HDPE Cutting Board Materials
High-density polyethylene, or HDPE, is a type of plastic. It is a polymer made from ethane gas. Ethane is heated to the point its molecules break, and that makes ethylene, and that reaction creates a chain of those molecules strung together, which is HDPE plastic. HDPE is the most widely used plastic in the world, used in dozens of applications. It often replaces heavier materials in many products.
HDPE is dishwasher safe, easily moldable, has a high melting point of 250 degrees fahrenheit, impervious to most common chemicals, inexpensive, lightweight, long-lasting, and strong.

Richlite Cutting Board Materials
Richlite is environmentally friendly material created from hundreds of phenolic resin soaked sheets of paper being pressed together under extreme heat and pressure. This produces a extremely strong, highly heat-resistant (to 350 degrees) material for cutting boards. Richlite really is the perfect material for commercial cutting boards. Richlite cutting boards in the light brown color have a natural look of wood. They are very resistant to staining, splitting, and cracking Richlite is light, non-porous, and dishwasher safe.
Material to make Richlite comes from Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) certified sources and recycled paper ONLY. Close to 100% of volatile organic compounds (VOCs) in the resin used are eliminated during lamination, and so do not get into our valuable air. Richlite is certified by the FSC, GreenGuard, and the Rainforest Alliance. Richlite is a top-grade choice as a commercial kitchen cutting board material.
